This is to inform you that a recent amendment to the building regulations 2018 came into effect in Victoria on 12 October 2021.
The regulations which came into effect on 1 December 2019, introduced the requirement for owners to register their swimming pools and spas with the council.The regulations also require pool owners to engage a building surveyor, building inspector, or swimming pool inspector to certify that the pool or spa safety barrier complies with the regulation.
A certificate of the swimming pool or spa barrier compliance (CBC) issued by a building surveyor, building inspector, or swimming pool inspector is required to be logged with the council by a specific date determined by the construction date of the swimming pool and spa
